He Loses His Power When We Know His Face
“He loses his power when we know his face.”
This quote by the late Michelle McNamara, author of I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer, resonates with me.
If Melissa's murderer is still alive, I often wonder if he is constantly looking over his shoulder... fearing that the truth is closing in on him.
Had he killed before that awful night on December 1, 1994? Has he killed since?
For now, he hides the truth under a dark cloak of secrecy and lies.
This is his only power.. and it is only temporary. Eventually, the light will shine and the truth will be exposed. The world will know his name. The world will know his face.
He will lose his power when we know his face.
I long for that day. That day is so close. I can feel it. I hope he feels it too.
